Ages and lengths are typical. Every learner is placed individually, so please ask if you are unsure.

AS Level introduces advanced study, greater subject specialisation and more independent thinking. Our preparation builds comprehensive subject understanding, sophisticated analytical skills and the discipline that advanced qualifications demand.

Advancing beyond IGCSE

Learners concentrate on a smaller selection of subjects that match their strengths and ambitions, and engage with content at much greater depth: evaluating information, building structured arguments and interpreting complex ideas.

Essential competencies

  • Advanced subject knowledge and confidence with complex material.
  • Analytical reasoning: examining evidence and evaluating arguments.
  • Independent research and information evaluation.
  • Academic writing: precise, well-argued, subject-specific responses.
  • Examination readiness: revision strategy and assessment technique.

Qualifications and progression

AS Level is an internationally recognised qualification that may be taken on its own or counted towards a full A Level, depending on the subject, assessment route and the examination board's regulations. It can support progression to further advanced study and, subject to each institution's requirements, higher education applications.
